Massage chairs for offices, hotels and wellness spaces
A massage chair for a business space needs different features than a home chair, from payment systems to durability under frequent use.

A massage chair for an office, hotel or wellness center needs to be chosen on different criteria than a chair for a home living room. At home, comfort for one or two users matters most. In a business space, durability under dozens of daily uses, easy cleaning between guests, and in some cases a pay-per-use system become the priority. Overlook that difference and you can end up with a chair that wears out fast in a high-traffic space, or one that offers no way to monetize its use.
Why a business space needs a different approach
In an office, waiting room, hotel room or wellness center, a massage chair gets used far more often than at home, sometimes daily, sometimes with a new user every twenty or thirty minutes. That means two things: the mechanism and upholstery need to handle far more cycles than in home use, and the chair needs to be easy to clean between users, since it's a product many different people will sit on.
The synthetic leather used on all HEKO/iRest chairs suits this environment well. It wipes clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap when needed. In business settings we recommend avoiding solvents, alcohol and harsh cleaners, which can damage the surface under frequent cleaning.
A payment system for public spaces
If you're planning to install a massage chair somewhere guests or customers pay for its use, there's a model built specifically for that. The iRest R-Pass (T103) is a coin or card-operated chair for public spaces and isn't intended for home use. It measures 142 × 79 × 123.5 cm upright and 158.5 × 79 × 112 cm reclined, weighs 86.5 kg and has a rated power of 80 W. Its recline mechanism needs at least 5 cm of clearance from the wall, one of the smallest clearances in the whole iRest lineup, which helps in spaces where wall room is tight.
For delivery, this model needs a doorway at least 80 cm wide, the same as most other models in the catalog.
Durability under frequent use
When choosing a chair for an office or hotel, it's worth looking at weight capacity and rated power, since these numbers indirectly show how the chair is built for load. Models with higher rated power, such as the iRest Eagleton (BFH-4010) at 280 W or the iRest Maesthron (A801) at 220 W, are built for more demanding massage mechanisms and often hold up better under intensive use, even though they're fundamentally designed as home chairs.
For spaces used by people of varying heights, maximum recommended user height matters too. The iRest Chillin Open (A360-31) accommodates users up to 200 cm, among the highest in the range, as does the iRest Supearl Open+ (A336-31), also rated up to 200 cm.
Space and delivery in a business setting
In offices and hotel rooms, wall space is often more limited than in private living rooms, which makes the recline clearance a key spec when choosing a chair. It varies by a factor of six across models, from 5 cm for the R-Pass to 30 cm for some other models. Before ordering for a business space, measure the actual wall space available and compare it against the chosen model's specification. You'll find a full overview of dimensions and wall clearances in the buying guide, and the complete data table in massage chairs by the numbers.
Delivery into business premises also depends on doorway width and any elevators involved, since chairs built for public use tend to be heavier than basic home models. The R-Pass weighs 86.5 kg, less than the higher-end 4D models, but still requires planning the delivery route, especially in buildings without a freight elevator.
Choosing the right model for your space
There's no single best chair for an office, hotel or wellness space. The right choice depends on the purpose of the space, the expected number of daily users, and whether you'll charge for use. For pay-per-use spaces, the R-Pass makes sense. For smaller offices looking to offer a higher-end experience to staff, a home model with higher rated power may fit better.
Since this is a business decision where the wrong choice affects both costs and user satisfaction, we recommend a free consultation before ordering, where we'll go over your space's purpose, expected usage frequency and available wall clearance together. A full overview of models and prices is available on the all massage chairs page.
